Thursday Props: Guentzel And Arvidsson Letting Shots Fly; Benn Producing

It is Thursday once again, so let's find some winning NHL props. There are 11 games on the schedule in the NHL tonight, which gives us more than enough options to find some winning props. I've taken my time to carefully look over every matchup tonight, and I think I've found a few props that can win us some money. The research is done, the picks are in, and now it's time to watch some hockey!

Below, I highlight three player props that stood out to me for tonight's games. My record this season stands at (28 – 17) after going (2 – 1) last Thursday, hopefully, we can sweep the board tonight!

Jake Guentzel – Over 2.5 Shots (-143)

Jake Guentzel has really upped his game recently as the Pittsburgh Penguins try to solidify their playoff spot. Over the last 10 games, Guentzel has recorded the eighth most shots in the NHL during that span with 41. His average of 4.10 shots per game over this stretch is nearly a shot more per game than his season average of 3.16, a huge jump in shot production for Guentzel. His recent play has led to him recording three or more shots in seven straight games, three of four on the road, and 16 of 20 overall. His ability to rack up the shots on the road is a good sign considering the Penguins are on the road versus the New York Rangers tonight. In his two games versus the Rangers so far this season he recorded three or more shots in both of them. With the Penguins trying to pull away from the teams behind them in the standings, I expect Guentzel to keep up his strong play to help make that happen.

Jamie Benn – Over 0.5 Points (-140)

Jamie Benn has been producing like a superstar as of late and I expect that to continue when the Dallas Stars visit the Edmonton Oilers tonight. Benn has recorded 16 points in his last 10 games which trails only Connor McDavid, Mitch Marner, and Pavel Buchnevich for fourth most over that span, not bad company to be in. Benn's fantastic play has resulted in him recording at least a point in nine of his last 11 games, nine of 10 on the road, and 15 of 21 overall. With the Stars playing in Edmonton tonight, Benn's production on the road is a big confidence booster for me. Also, in Benn's two games versus the Oilers this season he has recorded four points, winning this bet in both games. Over their past 5 games, the Oilers have allowed 5 powerplay goals, considering Benn has six powerplay points in his last five games the Oilers might want to stay out of the box if they hope to contain him. With how hot Benn has been lately, and how many goals the Oilers allow, look for Benn to continue to rack up the points tonight.

Viktor Arvidsson – Over 3.5 Shots (-106)

Viktor Arvidsson and the surging Los Angeles Kings host the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets tonight and I expect the Kings to shoot the lights out. Over their past 10 games, the Blue Jackets are allowing 35.90 shots against per game, the fifth most over that span. Over the same 10 game stretch, Arvidsson is averaging 4.40 shots per game, meaning this could be the perfect matchup for Arvidsson to have a big game. Arvidsson has recorded at least four shots in seven straight games and five straight at home, which is a nice bonus considering the Kings are at home tonight. Also, the Blue Jackets have surrendered the second most shots in the NHL to opposing right-wingers over the past five games. This looks promising seeing as Arvidsson should lineup on the right side tonight. With how many shots the Blue Jackets allow and how much Arvidsson loves to shoot, I expect Arvidsson to have a big game tonight.
