As keeper league hockey pools increase in number each year, fantasy junkies become more active in the off-season as they prepare their team for the coming year. Rebuild? Retool? Tweak? Whatever your intentions, it helps to get all the information you can about your players.

Throughout the off-season, FPL will look at a pair of teams each week and give you the fantasy lowdown. To kick things off, we’ll buck the trend of past years and start alphabetically – in reverse. Just to be different. And because of the fact Anaheim is still playing.

Dallas has signed Stu Barnes to a one-year deal. Niklas Backstrom signed a multi-year deal with the Wild. The Leafs just signed Staffan Kronwall to a one-way deal, which all but assures that he has a roster spot for next season. This impacts Stralman's chances, for all you Stralman lovers! Two things that won't go away since the [...]

The Leafs signed Antropov. The deal is for two years and it is worth OVER $4 million. Hmmm. Not knocking his talent. In fact, I think Antropov is more talented than most fans. However, why pay a guy who will only play 50 games for you per season? I don't understand it. Maybe the Leafs [...]

Chris Kunitz missed last night's contest with his stomach/abdominal injury. No word on if he will play in Game 5. Patrick Eaves, in the lineup for Dean McAmmond, saw some time with Spezza and Heatley. Alfredsson played on a line with Fisher and Schaefer. I thought Fisher had an incredible game and I didn't think Alfredsson [...]
