A guarantee – Jakub Voracek will break the 80-point mark at some point over the next three seasons.   If I were a Wings fan, I'd be a bit concerned about the lack of mobility on the back end (especially with Kronwall still banged up). The Blues, Blue Jackets, Blackhawks, and especially the Predators [...]

I am up in Castlegar, BC this week helping to run a hockey camp. I don't have internet/computer access most of the day, so if something happens, I'll update it around 3:30 PM PST/6:30 PM EST.   Why does our Pool Guide rock? Because we can update it every day with trades and signings. [...]

If there is a chance that you may be able to acquire Jakub Voracek in your keeper league, get on it! Voracek isn't mentioned as an upper-echelon young talent, but that is exactly what he is.   He is more of a playmaker than a goalscorer, which is strange considering the fact that he [...]

Assuming that our testing for the new Downloads section works out this evening, we will launch the new shop tomorrow morning - meaning you can purchase the Fantasy Guide without the annoying Paypal extra legwork. Nazem Kadri

I have a few general rules when it comes to building a team in a fantasy hockey keeper league. One of the more important ones is to not plan beyond a two or three year window. You are not building a real NHL club, and too often fantasy hockey poolies place an emphasis on youth and prospects over proven veterans with gas still left in the tank. So using my general rule, take a look at your team(s). Can you realistically say you will have a shot at winning the league at some point within the next two or three seasons? If not, time to scrap the rebuild and start adding proven NHL talent.

Some news from today... Atlanta has signed Freddy Meyer IV to a two-way deal. Florida has inked tough guy Andrew Peters to a contract. Real hockey news, come out, come out, wherever you are!   Billy Sweatt is expected to sign today.   Step 1: Buy the 2010-11 DobberHockey Pool Guide. Step 2: Read [...]
