For most of the hockey world – specifically the fantasy hockey community – the expansion draft is of great interest. The draft itself should be fun, but the trades leading up to it are going to be just as important. There is also the protection lists to consider, giving fans some faint insight into the [...]
After days (weeks?) of speculation, the official announcement was made Monday morning that the Florida Panthers had hired former NHLer Bob Boughner as their next head coach. This comes following a season where they had some turmoil both behind the bench in Florida and curbside in Carolina. Simply pegging The Boogieman as a former NHLer [...]
It was a very tight-checking start to Game 6 of the Cup Final. Both teams were covering themselves defensively very well, and neither was really able to get dangerous looks for most of the first period. The line of Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, and Conor Sheary occasionally got into prime scoring positions but it always [...]
A few weeks ago, Rob Vollman posted his updated translation factors on Twitter. For anyone unfamiliar, it’s just the rate used to figure out what potential NHL production would look like. Despite just 15 regular season games to his name, he picked up his fourth point in his last four playoff games since Nashville’s top line center went out, and it was a beautiful goal: [...]
Dobber writers make their Stanley Cup Final, and Conn Smythe, predictions. **** Things went a little better for the panel of Dobber writers with their round three picks compared to round two; out of 19 writers, 13 of them picked both Nashville and Pittsburgh to overcome Anaheim and Ottawa, respectively. However, Cam Robinson (of Frozen [...]
Some scoring trends from across the NHL, as well as some thoughts on Giroux and Thornton **** When forecasting the future for fantasy hockey, or any fantasy sport, it’s important to keep an eye on trends, or emerging trends. Whether it be the home-run rate in baseball, the scarcity of the three-down running back in [...]
