(#17 Max Lalander looks to make a move)

From the league that brought you Henrik Zetterberg, Alex Edler and Tomas Holmström, a raw young talent with superstar potential is making waves in front of his hometown crowd- when he's not in the penalty box.

A tough decision can be made easier with these charts showing you the best five and worst five schedules for upcoming seven-day periods. Some of you used them last year but for the benefit of new readers here is a refresher. The number next to the team indicates the 'multiplier' to use on a player's point-per-game pace to give you an idea how many points to expect for that week.

Saturday’s Picks – December 3rd

Anthony bounces back 6-0 with his picks last week. How about sending some of that my way?? We had a little rough patch last week with only two winners, while Thunder managed an impressive 4-2 record with picking winners such as the Leafs and Jets. It’s time to step up and answer the call. I was heading home from work Wednesday afternoon and wished my colleague, an avid Leafs fan, luck that evening as his team was going up against the Bruins.  I told him I thought the game would end 6-3 in Boston’s favour, where he argued that the game would be closer with how well the Leafs have played as of late.  I agreed with him to an extent and conceded that the sixth goal would be an empty netter. Surely enough the B’s pull out a 6-3 win with an empty netter to seal the deal. Hopefully some of that insight will rub off for this week, and/or I just wasted it all on a single game. Hope everyone enjoys this Saturday’s action and a triple header on CBC for us hockey nut bags in Canada.

This month, host Brian Kom chats with Jeremy Rutherford, a beat reporter covering the Blues. He also talks with (fake) Henrik Zetterberg about his personal life. Jim Gintonio comes on to talk about the Turris situation, and DobberHockey's own Jason Arbuthnot dives into the wonderful world of the Frozen Pool fantasy tools.

Hitting the quarter mark is a reasonable time for poolies to panic if their team isn't panning out. Don't panic to the point of making rash decisions, but realizing the time has come for a roster shakeup isn't unrealistic. If a trade can't be found, looking to the waiver wire may be the only option. There are generally a ton of options with the potential for big production in short spurts so let's take a look at some cheap options that can give your roster a swift kick in the arse.

Valterri Filppula vs. Mike Ribeiro

My two favourite mantras in fantasy hockey are; buy low sell high and; proven over potential. As we saw last week in the Giroux vs. Kane Cage Match sometimes you just have to throw those out the window. Things do eventually change. Learning to tell the difference between a buy low stock and a sinking ship is tremendously valuable. Being able to tell the difference between a breakout player and a fast starter is similarly valuable. In this week’s Cage Match we look at two different players in two very different situations – one in the latter situation and one in the former. It’s Valterri Filppula vs. Mike Ribeiro. Are these two contenders or pretenders?

Happy Black Tuesday everybody! I trust you’re enjoying hockey on your brand new $49 Black Friday 75” LED TV.  Up here in Canada, all we have are faux noir Monday 5% off sales. It’s a bit of a joke. Look at us! We have sales too! It’s almost worth driving down and wading through a sea of jogging pants at Walmart to save some bucks (import duty $$ aside). If anyone knows where I can buy a car with a hidden 75” compartment let me know…

This week we’ll be doing some bargain bin shopping of our own.  The best part: no sweaty jogging pants, no rat-tails and no inappropriately tight 1987 Def Leppard t-shirts! Let’s begin shall we?
