In this week’s Eastern Edge: Duclair’s hot; Petry’s not. Fortunes can change quickly in the NHL and one player on this list started on the fourth line for his team in the season opener. The other player is the cornerstone of his team’s blue line, has four straight 40-point seasons, but is on pace for [...]
After about a month of play, I’m going to go through each team in the West and choose an MVP and the most disappointing player to date. I’m going to look at factors like faceoffs, blocks, hits, Corsi, time on ice and of course production. I’m sure there are other opinions out there, so let [...]
Now that most NHL teams are at the 10-game mark of the season, fantasy general managers are trying to get a sense of where they stand with their team. It's not easy. It seems as if there are more than the usual number of injuries to top stars this year, plus Covid protocols are also [...]
We are now a full week into November and there’s no shortage of interesting storylines to follow this season. The Carolina Hurricanes’ miraculous winning streak to start the season finally came to an end last night when they ran into the other hottest team in the league, the Florida Panthers. With no Edmonton to pay up for, Toronto in a somewhat tough matchup, and a few other top teams such as Florida and Tampa Bay excluded from this Saturday slate, we’ve got the chance to get a little weird and play (and in my case write about) a few teams that normally might not make [...]
Please note that stats are up to and including Wednesday’s games. The Immediate Fix (Grab this guy and use him for the next several days)Matt Duchene, C/RW, Nashville Predators (Available in 85% of ESPN leagues, 53% Fantrax, 65% Yahoo) – I’m sure some of the folks in your league right now are scrolling the waiver [...]
Ben and Lewis return on a wild Thursday night, and like Bergeron and Nelson, they hope to provide a four-pack each of fantasy lamp-lighters. The big news of the day is the Jack Eichel trade, and the guys review each side and opine on what comes next in Buffalo and Vegas. Then it's on to [...]
