Hockey Rambling

Another sunny summer day, another 13 hours of playoff hockey on the docket. My goodness, this is a strange yet beautiful time to be a hockey fan.  First up were the Panthers and the Islanders and things continued to be a tire fire in net for the Kitty Cats. Two-time Vezina winner, Sergei Bobrovsky has [...]

These are my first Ramblings since the NHL officially returned, meaning post-exhibition games. I just want to pass along some thoughts on the weekend games before reviewing what happened in Monday’s contests. First, it sure seems to me there’s a difference in intensity between the round robin games and the play-in games. That should have [...]

The Interactive Playoff Draft List is up, updated and ready for download. It’s not too late to start a playoff pool! LIMITED TIME OFFER: Keeper League Pack (Prospects Report is already out!) and this Playoff List for under 20 bucks. That’s right – the FPR, the Fantasy Guide (out in October), and the Playoff Draft [...]

It was hockey hockey hockey all day long on Saturday. You may have found it impossible to watch the entire quintupleheader, as other commitments and the nice weather of August might have gotten in the way. But at least when you were ready to watch hockey, there was probably a game on. Let’s dive into [...]

It all starts today! Or tomorrow, if you’re a night owl reading this not long after I’ve posted it. Either way, the 2019-20 postseason that we’ve been waiting so long for is about to begin! Think back to when this whole pandemic hit and the league shut down. The pause went from days to weeks [...]

Thursday was the last day of exhibition games before the real fun gets started on Saturday. Like Mike Clifford last night, I’ll mainly recap games here, since we now have those to talk about. I’ll start with the late Wednesday game, as it might have been on past Mike’s bedtime in the Maritimes. The Canucks/Jets [...]

This is largely going to be a recap of the exhibition games from the last couple nights. Granted, there isn’t a ton we can glean from the first game back after nearly five months away – during the middle of the summer, no less. All the same, we’ve been waiting a long time to watch [...]

For the first time in five months, I’m on Ramblings’ duty and there is ACTUAL HOCKEY PLAYING. I think I may cry. Normally, our trio of Editors and Dobber manage the offseason writing pretty well. We mix in some Bubble Week stuff, look at the kids, try to project, predict, and dive into our bag [...]

The big news over the weekend was that John Chayka, the GM for Arizona, was leaving the team. The Coyotes put out a press release statement saying he quit the team. What actually happened, we don’t know. What I do know is that taking team statements at face value is not advised. I was a [...]

The Interactive Playoff Draft List is up, updated and ready for download. If you bought the Ultimate Fantasy Pack last year, this is included in that package (i.e. not the more popular Keeper League Pack, so make sure you have the Ultimate Pack before trying to download it). This year’s Ultimate Pack, however, does not [...]
