Hockey Rambling

Get your brooms out Bruins’ fans, because the sweep has been completed.   By now, most of you have heard the whispers of a magical sweep curse that has been transmitted via the handshake at the end of several series. The Penguins gave it to the Islanders, who passed it on to the Hurricanes. [...]

The San Jose Sharks are incapable of having a slow-paced series, or even a slow-paced game. They had leads of 2-0 and 3-1 in Game 3 against St. Louis but the Blues scored three goals in about 14 minutes to take a 4-3 lead. Who else but Couture would tie the game late to [...]

Ladies and gentlemen, Tuukka Rask. The Bs netminder has been spectacular this spring and especially against the Hurricanes.   The big news before Game 7 was that Joe Pavelski returned to the lineup for San Jose for the first time since the Vegas series. There may have been questions about how ready he would be for a game of this magnitude, but the fact that he scored a trademark redirection in the first [...]

The first game seven of the second-round culminated on Tuesday evening in Missouri. And I'll be frank, it was almost exclusively the Blues dictating play and Ben Bishop accepting the pepper with a spicy smile.    Vince Dunn got things going in the first frame with a seeing-eye wrister from the point to [...]
