Earmarked for Success (East 2010): Part One

Evander Kane

Russ is on hiatus for the summer, so I’ll be filling in for him. You Dobberities won’t miss out on half of the information for your fantasy leagues in these series of columns.

I’ll try to keep it the same as the articles from the West. First, I want admit that I’m not as informed about the East as I am with the West, so if there are any controversial items, be sure to make comments at the bottom of the page to open up some discussion.

The Anatomy of a Trade

Sharp

I have found it difficult to make trades in my own fantasy hockey leagues since joining the DobberHockey crew full-time over two years ago. I share my thoughts on sleepers, overrated players, and my favourite players/prospects with all of you on a daily basis. When I propose a trade in any of my leagues, my potential trading partner is usually quick to check out the site to see what I have said in the past about the player(s) I am inquiring about.

However, I managed to pull the trigger on a very interesting deal yesterday in my favourite league. It is a head-to-head league with many DobberHockey veterans, and I finished fourth out of 12 last year (my first year in the league after taking over a pretty decent roster).

Kovalchuk to the Kings is inching closer. Emphasis on inching.   It sounds like Modano will be a Red Wing this season. If Todd Bertuzzi can play for Calgary, anything is possible, but this will take some getting used to.   Elliotte Friedman's final 30 Thoughts of the season is posted. Arguably the best [...]

Angus Audits Your Team: The Penguins

Penguins

DobberHockey reader Justin sent me his team to be audited. Upon first glance, I wondered why he was asking about the likes of Nigel Williams and Keith Aucoin, until I saw the size of rosters in this league (60). I find a bench of five or six is more than sufficient, so needless to say this was an interesting audit to conduct.

I have been reading last year's guide for reference, and it has been interesting to look back at all of the projections. I was astounded after reading Justin Goldman's "Goalies to Watch" section - he was on the money.   Dobber here - I'll be taking your fantasy hockey questions throughout the day in [...]
