Welcome back to another edition of Lining Up, this week will focus on two hot lines from the last three weeks and how the players can help your rosters in the short and long term. Let’s not waste time with pleasantries and dive in. Anders Lee – Bo Horvat – Mathew Barzal Looking at the [...]
Let’s get the first thing out of the way here with the Blues relieving Craig Berube of Head Coaching duties and appointing Drew Bannister as interim HC: This is a flawed roster, and it was not necessarily something that Berube was doing poorly here. He had his warts, sure, but based on public opinion so [...]
Welcome back to Goldipucks and the Three Skaters, a play on words of the Goldilocks and the Three Bears story. Instead of there being three bowls of porridge though, I cover three skaters and declare one too hot (i.e., doing unsustainably better than he should), another too cold (i.e., doing unsustainably worse), and a third [...]
Halfway through the Leafs/Rangers game I had one of my league-mates ask me what was wrong with Igor Shesterkin. Coincidentally I own Shesterkin in that league. Or perhaps it wasn’t and he was fishing to try and buy-low. Regardless, goalies are the epitome of small sample sizes, and we expect those to normalize faster than [...]
Another wild week of NHL and fantasy hockey action results in an equally uptempo version of the latest edition of Eastern Edge. This week we’re taking a look into a number of different fantasy-relevant situations that could help prepare a lot of GMs for what is sure to be an intense stretch of the NHL [...]

Isak Rosen was sent back to the AHL by Buffalo ahead of Monday night’s game against Arizona with Brett Murray coming back the other way. Rosen was held pointless in seven games with the Sabres though he played in the bottom-6 virtually the entire time and skated under nine minutes per night. It is a [...]
This week, I will look at some players in the Western Conference who don’t necessarily stand out as players who hit or block shots, but are quietly above average in one or both of those categories. Some of these skaters might have started slowly and come on lately or vice versa. If you were already [...]
No matter how much you plan, who you draft, or who you trade for, at some point in the season, your players will go through cold streaks. If it's a streaming player that you only picked up during a hot streak, you drop them as soon as they have two or three pointless games. For [...]
One of my favourites from Dobber’s Frozen Tools is the Schedule Planner, which shows you which teams are playing during any given timeframe. One thing this reveals is who’s playing on ‘light nights’, when there aren’t many games scheduled. With fewer games on tap, you should have more open slots on your fantasy roster. So, [...]
