Welcome back to Goldipucks and the Three Skaters, a play on words of the Goldilocks and the Three Bears story. Instead of there being three bowls of porridge though, I cover three skaters and declare one too hot (i.e., doing unsustainably better than he should), another too cold (i.e., doing unsustainably worse), and a third [...]
For the last 20 years (12 with The Hockey News), Dobber has reviewed each team from a fantasy-hockey standpoint and graded them. This is not a review of the likely performance on the ice or in the standings, but more in the realm of fantasy hockey both for the season ahead, and the foreseeable future. [...]
Yesterday was my one annual fantasy football draft. It’s always fun to get a different draft perspective, especially in a sport that I don’t know as well as hockey. It forces a bit more thought on the strategy of which positions to target when, and how to take advantage of inefficiencies when you don’t know [...]
In this week’s Eastern Edge, we’ll look at potential third wheels for dynamic duos in Montreal and New York. Montreal Canadiens The star duo of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield will likely spend the year together, but there are numerous candidates for that third spot on Montreal’s top line. Before the 2022-23 season, I attempted to rank the Western Conference teams from one to sixteen and put them in tiers of being contenders, playoff-bound, bubble teams, risers or bottom dwellers. I then re-ranked the teams at the halfway point here. Vegas started the season at #5 and moved up to #1 in January 2023 [...]
One of the things I love about the keeper leagues I participate in is the uniqueness of a couple of rules. I've been in leagues that are straightforward keeper leagues, which are great but always seemed to be lacking something that made them stand out. I know there are plenty of people who prefer the [...]
The 18th annual Fantasy Guide was last updated on Friday, just with some player tryout notes. News will pick up very soon, and I also have a few columns to get in. But the big news was the release of my Goalie Post app. Oh yes, it’s here. And it’s a beauty. Besides a facelift [...]
