At the beginning of the season I chose my top-10 rookies in the Western Conference in an article here. I always like to review my pre-season lists and see how I did. There were a few misses and a few hits, which we will look at below but the Western Conference represented well this season [...]
If there was ever a season where you wanted to go the zero-goalie rule (waiting until late in the draft to select a netminder), this would have been the year. Scoring was up to an average of 3.18 goals per game per team, the most since 1993-94. The uptick in scoring led to plenty of surprising [...]
Here are the top 200 prospect forwards to own in your points-only dynasty leagues - April edition! As always, players rated between +/- 5.0 points of each other should be considered equal value and at that point become a matter of team needs (reliability vs. upside vs. floor vs. wait time, etc.) and personal bias. Even though Larsen didn’t seem likely to last the offseason, I’m not sure anyone could have coached that team to a playoff spot, given the sheer volume of injuries they faced this season. As I mentioned yesterday, the Blue [...]
Welcome back to The Journey, where we track the development of prospects as they excel in junior, make the NHL, and push towards stardom. I had envisioned this article being a general survey of rookie performances in 2022-23—who surprised, who disappointed—but one name in particular just kept popping up for me: Wyatt Johnston (DAL). The [...]
The 2022-23 regular season has just finished at the time that these rankings are published. If you’re already looking ahead to next season, these rankings could be considered very preliminary rankings for the 2023-24 season and will be adjusted throughout the offseason based on player transactions and further research on player values. Keep in mind [...]
The NHL’s regular season came to a close on Friday with two games that had been postponed earlier in the season. These two games provided the few fantasy teams still competing for something with one last opportunity to pull out a win. If you fall into this category, you were probably breaking these games down [...]
