Welcome back to The Journey, where we follow hockey prospects and their paths to the NHL, providing fantasy predictions and analysis along the way. It’s the end of the month again, which means it’s time for another edition of sink-or-swim. We'll examine three former blue-chip prospects whose values have taken a hit and whose futures [...]
Don’t look now, but the NHL playoffs are only about 60 days away. With that comes the stretch run of the schedule in which teams jockey for postseason positioning and legitimate contenders begin to separate themselves from peripheral pretenders. In more plain terms: buckle up for a two-month ride of what is sure to feature [...]
Well despite what appeared to be a successful week of hockey on the fantasy sites, with larger than normal contests filling often times well in advance of lock, the return of the NBA has the NHL contest sizing right back to “normal”. That shouldn’t be a surprise as the fantasy sites always put hockey on [...]
Filling in for the injured Elvis Merzlikins, Joonas Korpisalo, and Daniil Tarasov, J-F Berube deserved a better fate on Friday. Just in yesterday’s Ramblings I discussed how Elvis Merzilikins had re-joined the Columbus Blue Jackets and could be ready to make a return. Well, that didn’t really happen as he was put on the injured reserve on Thursday morning. It has been seven days since his last game and this was about clearing some room [...]
With there being so many high-profile players potentially being shipped around during the trade deadline this year it just felt right to talk about a few more of the potential trade candidates. This trade deadline is probably going to have more players getting fresh starts with new teams than what we’ve seen in years prior. [...]
There was some awful news that came from the Toronto Maple Leafs and General Manager Kyle Dubas early on Wednesday morning. It was concerning one of their top prospects in Rodion Amirov. The news was shared by Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, though there would be more reports throughout the day discussing this: https://twitter.com/frank_seravalli/status/1496485551293280263 Honestly, [...]
