The San Jose Sharks come in to the post-season firing on all cylinders. They possess the best Vezina candidate in net, one of the most dominant forward in the Western Conference, and a great supporting cast. Coupled with this is the fact that both Marleau and Cheechoo seem to be rounding into form after horrendous starts to the season. But the main reason for their recent hot play has been without question the trade deadline acquisition of Brian Campbell.

NHL hockey Stanley Cup picks

 

A year ago, the DobberHockey Crew went 12-3 with our playoff picks as a group. Individually, Jim Gunther, who wrote Sticks and Stones at the time, was tops at 11-4. Matt Bugg was the only one to say Anaheim would win in four, Gunther said in six – it wound up being five. Everyone on the panel had a winning record, but the worst prognosticator was (gulp) myself going just 8-7.
