Peter Forsberg will need at least several months to rehab his foot, once again throwing into doubt whether or not he can even play 40 games next season.
Dallas coach Dave Tippett has been extended for two years.
The Islanders have fired Ted Nolan. He did not get along well with his GM (again), but kept a bad team competitive.

Atlanta has reportedly signed Jason Williams to a one-year deal. He's a first-liner on that team, and could see 60 points as a result.
The Caps have re-signed Boyd Gordon to a one-year deal.
