I can’t even begin to explain how tough it was to rank the final 25 keeper league goalie prospects in my first-ever “Top-50” list. I could have easily tossed in another 20-25 legitimate prospects, but cuts had to be made. Not every goalie prospect in the world can be considered a legitimate keeper, but almost every goalie on this list could be ranked higher or lower, depending on your own personal preference.

In this summer’s edition of the Fantasy Prospects Report, co-writer Matthew Bugg and myself present a chart of the 20 forwards who will be selected this weekend that we would most like to own in a strictly points keeper league. With Draft Day fast approaching, it’s high time that I take the 10 best out of my chart and expand on them a little. One can never have too much insight. Besides, I can’t promote this e-magazine too much – I’m pretty shameless that way.

PART 1

PART 2

With the draft coming up, most people tend to focus on who is being drafted and have considerably less knowledge about who is doing the drafting. I plan to single out the decision makers on each team and see how they've done recently. I'm going to focus on the most recent drafts (2005-2008) only. The teams are presented in alphabetical order with five articles each to be published prior to the draft. Please note: This is not an assessment of each team's current prospects but an examination of the people currently doing the drafting and how well those people have done in recent drafts.

The Blues have re-signed pending UFA Keith Tkachuk to a one-year deal. Was there ever any doubt?  OK...now I'm officially old. When you can remember studying a player when he was an 18-year-old and deciding whether or not to draft him...and now he's in the head office of an NHL team, that's not good news. [...]
