Fantasy Guide is here.

So far, Malhotra just has a training camp invite.

The Rangers made some cuts. They also kept a few in camp – but had them go to Hartford for a few days, which can’t be the greatest sign. Arnason and Locke were among the latter group.

Afternoon CUTS:
Zack Kassian, Luke Adam, Marcus Foligno, Jacob Lagace, Nick Crawford, Brayden McNabb. BUFFALO (still 50 left in camp)

Codey Burki, Matt Clarke, Ray Macias, Billy Sauer, Tyson Barrie, Joel Chouinard, Stefan Elliott, Kelsey Tessier. COLORADO (still 41 left in camp)

Tim Miller, Andrew Loverock. COLUMBUS (still 50 left in camp)

Tyler Beskorowany, Tomas Vincour. DALLAS (still 47 left)

EDMONTON cut a lot, but nobody of note (still 48 left)

Rangers cut a lot as well – of note: Ryan Bourque, Ethan Werek, Nigel Williams, Devin Didiomete and Dan Lacouture.

Drew Bannister, Tomas Kudelka, Erik Condra, Denis Hamel, Jim O’Brien and Chris Holt. OTTAWA (40 left)

Jared Staal, Mathieu Brodeur, Michael Stone. PHOENIX (51 left)

Dan DaSilva, Dean Strong, TJ Trevelyan. SAN JOSE

BLUES made lots of cuts, but nobody of note. 45 left.

Mitch Fadden, Scott Jackson, Chris Lawrence, Kevin Quick. TAMPA BAY (43 left)

Angus here. Got a fantasy hockey question on your mind? I’ll be taking questions for the next four hours here!!!

Line combinations for the Canucks tonight: Grabner-Kesler-Samuelsson, Raymond-Wellwood-Bernier. Luongo is starting the first half of the game for the Canucks, and Giguere for the Ducks. Schneider/Pogge are also playing for their respective clubs.

More rumors: Maxim Afinogenov to try out with Atlanta? (from Puck Daddy). Rob Niedermayer to sign in KHL? (TSN)

Sharks are close to signing Manny Malhotra

Kevin Porter had a strong game for Phoenix last night, one of the few plus players. He had an assist and saw a lot of PP and SH time.

Despite nearly 25 minutes of ice time, Sami Lepisto was held off the scoreboard. He didn’t see a lot of PP time – Yandle saw almost all of it and the team went with four forwards.

Jason Allison saw his first game action in years, playing 14 minutes and nearly four of those on the power play. He didn’t produce, which is death for a man in his situation.

By all accounts, the Bozak-Hanson- Stalberg line for Toronto was dynamite. Watch Bozak’s goal below – fantastic.

Vinny Prospal played some center last night. As long as Dubinsky is out, you can expect that.

Evgeni Grachev, a long shot for a spot now, lined up with Anisimov and Lisin. He was held pointless.

John Tavares played with Weight and Bergenheim last night. He also saw some time with Justin Dibenedetto and Jon Sim. He was pointless and a minus-1

In trying to dig up a true gem for you in the fantasy guide, I came up with David McIntyre of the New Jersey Devils. He had a strong prospect camp, has posted improving numbers in college, is at the mature age of 22 and the Devils are razor thin at center. However, McIntyre has one more year left in Colgate and he plans to play it out, so he is not in New Jersey’s training camp. I will remove him and note this on the next update, which is tomorrow. Both the spreadsheet and the pdf will be updated for tomorrow.

Forgot to point you to it yesterday, but here is my Hockey News article. It is the final installment of my annual offseason fantasy outlook and includes a summary of the Team Fantasy Grades for ALL teams (at the bottom).

Also watch for my Puck Daddy article later today.

The Sabres signed Tyler Ennis to an ELC. Ennis is probably two or three years away so Ennis owners hope that they will be bigger as a team by then so they can accommodate him.

Some key cuts yesterday:
Josh Unice, ATL – i thought he would get a longer look-see.
Eric O’Dell and Michael Forney, ATL
Greg Nemisz, Mitch Wahl and TJ Brodie, CGY
Max Tanguay, Matt Keith, CHI
Nathan Moon, Jordan Parise, PIT
Also Casey Pierro-Zabotel and Keven Veilleux were cut by the Pens. This was expected – just not so early. These are two of their better prospects and they will get longer looks next year I am certain.
Prab Rai, VAN
Shawn Bates, Tom Fritsche, COL

Here’s the Leaf’s game in “six minutes”. In the first 1:40 you will see two fights and a great goal by Bozak.
