Montreal Signs Erik Cole
Dobber Sports
2011-07-01
Fantasy Impact: The Montreal Canadiens have signed winger Erik Cole to a four-year deal worth $18 million.
The Canadiens get: A proven 30-goal scorer who is fragile, but is coming off an 82-game season. He brings much needed size and skill.
Fantasy Players Impacted: To get onto a scoring line – and with that money, he will – he must displace one of Max Pacioretty or Andrei Kostitsyn. If Pacioretty is healthy, he stays. That means Kostitsyn is out of the top six, unless someone gets hurt or he has one of his patented hot streaks.
Fantasy Players this helps, in order:
1. Tomas Plekanec
2. Zach Dalpe/Drayson Bowman/Zack Boychuk
Fantasy Players this hurts, in order:
1. Andrei Kostitsyn
2. Max Pacioretty
3. Lars Eller
