Fantasy Guide out NOW. Enjoy.

The Draft List won't be ready until Tuesday. But the Guide provides enough kickassitude to get you through that extra day.

Par for the course whenever I release my guide – a roster gets shaken up within seconds. The Devils have placed Colin White and Trent Hunter on waivers. They have a 48-hour window for buyouts thanks to the Zach Parise arbitration award.

So Max Noreau hated the fact that he was traded to a team desperate for a defenseman with his skill set, so he decided to sign a contract to play in Switzerland. I don't know what to say. I guess I just assume that hockey players want to play in the NHL.

Our buddy Alessandro Seren Rosso translated another interview, this one with Kirill Kabanov. The quick version is this – he's focusing more on hockey, the Isles are happy with his progress, he played on a line with Strome and Niederreiter in development camp and they got along on and off the ice.

Today is the big day – everyone on Long Island will be glued to the radio and TV in anticipation of the precise moment I release my fantasy guide. Also, they may have a passing interest in the Nassau County vote on a new arena. But mostly the guide.

A "no" vote could see the team up for sale.

An early DobberHockey guide release could see the Islanders being traded straight up for the rights to sell my guide. It won't be enough – this guide is gold.

Here is an update on Evgeni Malkin – working very hard, clearly on a mission…

Shea Weber, shooting for one year in arbitration? Interesting…

Another brief one today. Hell, it's dog days of summer anyway…

Beating a dead horse, but Chris Osgood and the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in 1998, on the strength of his spectacular goaltending, shown here:

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
