Looking at the top daily options for Saturday's three-game slate …

Top Budget Plays

Centers

Antoine Vermette $3300 – This center is a punt play at the least. However, playing against Calgary may set up nicely as Vermett should mostly face depth matchups. He had eight shots in his last two games and is seeing about 15-16 minutes a night. Calgary is likely to play their typical, undisciplined style. That may leave a few openings for shots and potential points.

Winger

Tom Wilson $3100 – There is just a theme here that we must go completely crazy. Wilson had the game winner against Toronto in overtime and does occasionally see some ice time with the top lines. For all of his discipline issues, Wilson can be very effective creating space. In a series against a young team like Toronto, he has value at his low price.

Defensemen

Michael Stone $3200 – Hey, why not! Stone does not have a ton of offensive upside with one point in his last 13 games. However, he blocks shots and blocks them often. Stone had five blocks against Anaheim and some have argued more. If Anaheim keeps pumping shots on net then Calgary’s defense will have chances to block them. The floor is attractive enough for salary relief here.

Goalie

Frederik Andersen $7000 – This is a dangerous GPP play, but Andersen is cheap enough warrant consideration. His numbers have been decent enough, and the goalie is well rested. Washington peppered him with 44 shots in Game 1, and Andersen stopped 41 of them. That alone is slightly exceeding value and this is without a win.

Since we saved some money on the budget plays let’s look at the few of the pricey options that are worth paying up for today.

High-End Targets

Centers

Ryan Getzlaf $6900 – People will run to this as it will be chalky. That just means Getzlaf will be owned at an elevated rate. He had 19 points in his last 12 games, and you can expect him to get some opportunities as Calgary had few answers for him in Game 1, and especially in the first period. When the center is this motivated, he becomes a near plug and play because of his high ceiling. It is simple and until Calgary stops him, he is worth considering for cash and/or GPP lineups.

Winger

Patrick Kane $8100 – Though we may be going hard against Nashville, it is justified given that the right winger is shooting like he did a few years ago. He has 31 shots on goal in his last 10 games and has just two goals. Kane's power-play points and shooting percentage are a little low, which is surprising. The veteran will be a hair more owned because of the stack possibilities from this contest, but Kane has the highest point potential of all Chicago forwards and Pekka Rinne cannot shut down Chicago twice in a row, can he?

Defenseman

Kevin Shattenkirk $6200 – This is a low price for a play of Shattenkirk's stature, and he had nine shots on goal and an assist in Game 1. The Maple Leafs had few answers for his presence on the power play, as the defenseman kept peppering shots in from the point. If Toronto does not patch that defensive issue, soon Shattenkirk could be pumping in a few goals.

Goalie

John Gibson $8000 – The choices out there may appear to be better, but this has potential to work well. Gibson has three straight wins while allowing just three goals. Anaheim has beaten Calgary for what feels like a dozen years at home, and Gibson stopped 30 of 32 shots including a tense late third-period stretch where Calgary had a six-on-three opportunity at one point. The Ducks do have room for improvement, but if Gibson keeps playing like this, this could be a short series for the Flames.
