We are back with another Tuesday edition of Game Picks, where we give out a Gold, Silver, and Bronze bet selection every Tuesday during the NHL season. Tonight, we are gifted with a big night in the NHL with 10 games on the schedule. I'll be tuning into the Florida Panthers @ Chicago Blackhawks game, I think there is some money to be made betting on this game. Later in the evening, I'll be turning my attention to the Buffalo Sabres @ Seattle Kraken matchup to see if the Sabres can keep their roaring start going.

Below I highlight my Gold, Silver, and Bronze selections for tonight's games. Last Tuesday saw us go (2-1) again, bringing our season record to (4-2).

Gold Selection

Florida Panthers @ Chicago Blackhawks – Pick: Florida Panthers in Regulation (-140)

There is some simplicity involved in making this pick, the Panthers are good, and the Blackhawks are not. The Panthers have gotten off to a good start going (4-1-1). Their two losses so far have been to their in-state rivals Tampa Bay Lightning and perennial contenders Boston Bruins. Both of those losses were very, very close games and there is no shame in losing to either one of those teams. The Panthers believe they are true Stanley Cup contenders once again this season.

The Blackhawks have been better than expected so far, starting the season with a record of (3-2). Although they have won three games, none of them have been against teams that are true contenders. I don't have any faith in the Blackhawks this season, there is no way that they continue to win more games than they lose. The Blackhawks are sure to be in the mix for Connor Bedard when June rolls around.

I expect both teams will show their true colours tonight, and the Panthers will come away with the win.

Silver Selection

Florida Panthers @ Chicago Blackhawks – Pick: Matthew Tkachuk Over 3.5 Shots (+102)

Matthew Tkachuk has not missed a beat after a blockbuster trade saw him get traded from the Calgary Flames to the Florida Panthers. A lot of times after a big trade it can take quite a while for a player to start playing at the level they're capable of. It takes time for them to get comfortable with their new linemates, and the new systems they have to learn, but none of that has seemed to bother Tkachuk. Not only is he producing like he did last year, but he's also wearing an "A" in his first season with the Panthers.

In his first six games with the Panthers, Tkachuk has already registered 29 shots on goal, that's one shy of averaging five per game. Also, he's had four or more shots in every game so far, which means he's hit the over on this exact bet every game this season. Also, the Blackhawks are averaging 12.6 penalty minutes per game, the third most in the NHL. With Tkachuk on the top powerplay unit, he should get plenty of chances to rack up the shots.

Bronze Selection

Buffalo Sabres @ Seattle Kraken – Pick: Sabres Money Line (+122)

The Sabres are off to a blazing start. They are (4-1) to start the season with their lone loss coming to the Florida Panthers. In a span of five days last week the Sabres beat the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, and Vancouver Canucks, all road games I might add. That's as impressive of a week as you'll see in the NHL this year. During this hot start, the Sabres have been averaging 4.4 goals per game, the second most in the NHL. Also, they've been allowing the third-fewest goals against per game at 2.2. If the Sabres keep piling up the goals while also getting good goaltending, they are going to give a lot of teams problems this year.

The Kraken have started the season as expected, just okay, with a record of (2-3-2). Home ice advantage doesn't seem to be helping the Kraken this year, as they have lost their three games at home so far. Their goaltending looks just as bad as last year. The Kraken are allowing 3.86 goals per game, that's the sixth most in the NHL, and their goalies have a combined save percentage of .860%, which isn't helping. They will need to figure out how to keep the puck out of their net if they want to contend for a playoff spot this year.

With how many goals the Sabres have been scoring, and how many goals the Kraken give up, look for the Sabres to finish their western road trip with a perfect (4-0) record.
