DFS Saturday: Bank on the Bolts in Must-Win Game 6

Coming off four Game 6's on Friday night, we are treated with an additional three here on Saturday, which is the same number of games on the slate that we had last week. I really put the kibosh to the Rangers as they've gone 0-3 with just two goals total since making them my main stack in last week's article. While the individual plays didn't quite work out, the strategy of honing in on two team specific stacks was solid. We'll follow the same pattern for tonight's slate that starts at 7 pm EST and hope for better production. All player prices are from DraftKings but the concepts can be applied to any site.

Stack #1

While Toronto leads the series 3-2, you can make a pretty solid argument they've been outplayed for the majority of the last three games. Couple that with their recent playoff history of coming up short in big moments and the Lightning's experience of winning games like this – and I think I must start with Tampa Bay here at home. However, it's not the line you're probably thinking of. I'm starting my lineup tonight with the second line of Anthony Cirelli ($3,700), Alex Killorn ($4,200), and Brandon Hagel ($4,600). Over the last three games of this series, this trio has combined for six of the Lightning's 11 goals and have kicked in five assists on those as well. I'm going to throw in Nick Perbix ($3,200) at defense into the stack too, as he's had three assists so far this series and allows us to fit everything we want in our next stack.

Stack #2

Thanks to the savings we have on the Tampa Bay stack, we have the flexibility to play basically any combination of Edmonton players with the rest of our lineup. No surprise then that I'm looking at Connor McDavid ($10,100) and Leon Draisaitl ($8,300). The third and final piece can be someone like Evander Kane ($5,400), Evan Bouchard ($5,100), or Darnell Nurse ($4,900). For my lineup, I'm going to go Kane for the full top line correlation. This has been a tight series with three of the five games having gone to overtime, but the Oilers seem to have gained some transaction of late with 11 goals scored in the last two games. For the series, the top line trio above has accounted for 11 goals and 11 assists thus far so locking them in here should ensure we absorb most of the points available if the Oilers do score a few goals.

With a small slate like this I will absolutely include my goalie in with one of my stacks. That means either Stuart Skinner ($8,300) or Andrei Vasilevskiy ($7,800). The logic behind that is if we want to win a tournament, we are going to need both our stacks to score a few goals. If they score those goals, it means those teams have better chances to win the game which is what we want for our goalie. If our stacks fail, then our lineups are not going to do well anyway, so at that point it is unlikely that our decision at goalie makes much of a difference in terms of being able to win a top prize. When doing this strategy for tonight's slate, my decision is made for me as Vasilevskiy is the only one of the two who's salary fits with the rest of my lineup.
