Jake DeBrusk signed with the Bruins for two years with an AAV a little under $3.7M per season. His fantasy value in the upcoming season will depend on when the season actually begins. With both Marchand and Pastrnak out of the lineup on a January 1st start, DeBrusk could see a lot of top minutes. [...]
The German junior team announced its prelim roster and though Tim Stuetzle is (obviously) on it, as Chris Peters points out, he may not be ready for the tournament. He suffered a hand injury a few weeks ago and it was a 6- to 8-week timeline from then. That would put him somewhere mid-late December. [...]

The NHL Board of Governors had a call on Thursday afternoon but there wasn’t a lot of traction. This was not a call to offer a proposal to the players, but rather a call to start sorting out the affairs on the side of the owners before they send a proposal to the players. There [...]
Boston coach Bruce Cassidy did an interview at NHL.com yesterday and Amalie Benjamin had the salient points of his presser. The most important part was probably the update on Marchand and Pastrnak. Both are still on schedule for their returns - mid-January and mid-February, respectively. That there have been no setbacks (yet) is a good [...]
The Jets signed their first-round pick, Cole Perfetti, to a three-year ELC with an AAV of about $1.6M. Perfetti is hopefully the 2C of the future they’ll need to play behind Mark Scheifele. Despite a lot of talk around Quinton Byfield, Marco Rossi, and Tim Stuetzle, let’s remember that if any of them step into [...]
Ryan Pulock was re-signed by the Islanders to a two-year deal, carrying an average annual value of $5M. As mentioned in that linked tweet by Arthur Staple, this opens a second buyout window for the Islanders. Whether they use it or not is another matter, but they have about $4M in cap space with which [...]

Marco Rossi is heading to Switzerland with the blessing of the Minnesota Wild. He is expected to be in the lineup for the ZSC Lions, according to Mr. Russo, by this weekend. At the risk of reading far too much into this, Rossi starting up his hockey season overseas at a point in time where [...]
Chris Tierney has signed a two-year deal with the Sens carrying an AAV of $3.5M. It is noteworthy because the team could be going into the season with an unproven Colin White as their 1C. It is far from a lock that White is the top-line centre all year. We saw what J-G Pageau did [...]
