Here are the Top 300 skaters to own in your points-only keeper league - July edition. This month I'm still manually tweaking. The August edition will be fully audited with proper short-term projections entered into my template, proper lineups put in, etc. For this edition, I added in the best drafted players from last [...]
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenseman Calvin de Haan to a four-year contract worth $18.2 million. The Hurricanes get: probably the best two-way defenseman on the free agent market, but also the most injury prone. Were it not for said injuries, we could be talking about a completely different de Haan right now as [...]
Following his departure from the Sabres, which is a kind way of saying they didn’t want him back, it seemed inevitable that Robin Lehner would find a job somewhere. On Tuesday night, he signed a one-year deal with the New York Islanders with a cap hit of $1.5-million. The Islanders appear set to go [...]
I’ve sufficiently exhausted most of the advanced stat metrics I could throw at you this summer, but don’t worry, we’ll keep revisiting them and hopefully as promised wrap everything up come draft time with ADP values. This process does not necessarily identify who was [...]
The Calgary Flames have signed sniping winger James Neal to a five-year contract worth $5.75 million per season. The Flames get: a proven 30-goal scorer and a consistent 23-goal scorer. But let’s not get carried away and label him a 30-goal guy. Neal has done it twice in his career, once in 2011-12 when [...]
The start to the free agency period yesterday was kind of a bummer (unless you’re a Leafs fan). Lots of big names that were rumoured to be dealt (Erik Karlsson, Max Pacioretty, Jeff Skinner, Phil Kessell, Artmei Panarin and a bunch more) stayed put, although Ryan O’Reilly being traded late in the day made [...]

Not everyday you can live a childhood dream pic.twitter.com/YUTKdfMALl — John Tavares (@91Tavares) July 1, 2018 The Maple Leafs get: The prize catch of this summer's free agency. Tavares was courted by six different [...]
