Ramblings: Marleau’s record; Domi’s scratch; Keller’s season; Rossi’s problems – April 20

By Michael Clifford|2021-11-22T20:31:59-05:00April 20th, 2021|Hockey Rambling|

Patrick Marleau broke the record for most games played in the NHL, previously held by Gordie Howe, with 1768. Now, Marleau is just going to add games between here and the end of the season. Marleau is on his way to the Hall of Fame and this is a great way to cap off what [...]

Ramblings – Vegas surprise performers, Mantha, Tokarski, Canucks and more (Apr 19)

By Dobber|2021-04-19T01:30:30-04:00April 19th, 2021|Hockey Rambling|

At the age of 28 and in the heart of his prime, Mark Stone is healthy and putting up the numbers we’ve been waiting for. At 50 points in 43 games, he’s on a 95-point 82-game pace. We’re not shocked. The only question to me had always been whether or not he can play the [...]

Ramblings: Shutouts for Subban, Smith, and Murray; Marleau Ties Gordie Howe (Apr 18)

By Ian Gooding|2021-04-18T01:06:45-04:00April 18th, 2021|Hockey Rambling|

If you needed points, there were lots of them in the early games. Pavel Buchnevich picked the perfect way to celebrate his birthday – with a hat trick. The three goals give Buchnevich 40 points in 43 games, which is easily the best points-per-game total of his career. Over a full season, that would put [...]

Ramblings: Avalanche Paused, Canucks Nearing Return, Swayman Shutout (Apr 17)

By Ian Gooding|2021-04-17T01:52:12-04:00April 17th, 2021|Hockey Rambling|

The Colorado Avalanche have been shut down for the second time this season. Games on Friday and Sunday against Los Angeles and Tuesday against St. Louis have been cancelled. This news will be disappointing for fantasy owners of players like Nathan MacKinnon (and to a lesser extent, owners of Kings and Blues players). However, the [...]

Ramblings: Canucks Delayed, Matthews Out, Rask Returns, Traded Players Scoring With New Teams (Apr 16)

By Ian Gooding|2021-04-16T01:05:30-04:00April 16th, 2021|Hockey Rambling|

J.T. Miller’s words on the Wednesday video chat about the Canucks not being ready spoke volumes, with the league making the right call as a result. Because the Canucks still need more time to prepare for a return to play, the Canucks/Oilers game for today (Friday) has been cancelled. There are also rumblings that the [...]

By Michael Clifford|2021-04-14T23:02:08-04:00April 15th, 2021|Hockey Rambling|

It was announced on Wednesday that Jack Eichel will undergo surgery on his injury and will miss the rest of the 2020-21 season. He is expected to make a full recovery and be back for training camp of the 2021-22 season. The official word was that it was a herniated disk, which, I mean, I’ve [...]

I hope you enjoyed all of our trade deadline coverage and fantasy recaps. Dobber, Mike, and Ian all did an excellent job with their recaps, and there isn’t a lot more that I want to add. Instead, I get to build on it and cover a bunch of the new-team debuts, and there were some good [...]

Well, it was a trade deadline day. It certainly wasn’t as busy as some other deadline days, but we did have a few deals, most of the guys we thought would go actually did, and the Red Wings swung a monster trade late. If you want to go through all the individual fantasy angles of [...]

Ramblings – Trade Deadline Day! 2021 Pandemic Edition (Apr 12)

By Dobber|2021-04-12T17:22:52-04:00April 12th, 2021|Hockey Rambling|

That certainly handcuffs a lot of teams. Expect to see lots of creativity, not unlike with Tampa’s acquisition of David Savard on Saturday (looping in [...]
