Hockey Rambling

Apparently, GMs didn’t get the memo that Trade Deadline isn’t for another five days. Because once the ball got rolling with the Islanders overpaying for Andy Greene on the weekend, the momentum has spread throughout the league. On Tuesday alone, we saw four different trades. Let’s take a quick look at their fantasy relevance. New [...]

Shea Weber was at Montreal practice on Monday morning, a good sign that he’s recovering well from his recent ankle injury. After practice, he would say that he’s not 100 percent but that until Montreal is eliminated from playoff contention, he feels it’s his duty to return and help. So, expect him back in the [...]

First, a couple of site announcements. We have gathered all the feedback (via the forum, Twitter and emails), plus our own notes, and we are moving forward with setting up the site to best feature what we do best – content. And from what I gather, because this is now on a new, modernized platform, [...]

Another day, another injury. Erik Karlsson will miss the rest of the regular season with a broken thumb that will require surgery. Karlsson’s season ends at 57 games, which means that this is the second consecutive season in which he has failed to reach 60 games. Signed to a long-term deal by the Sharks this [...]

First time posting on the new-and-improved site. Let's see how it goes.  Another day, another coach firing. This time, the axe fell on Bruce Boudreau as coach of the Minnesota Wild, who replaced him with assistant Dean Evason. Mike Clifford filled you in on the Fantasy Take.   I’m with Mike and a whole lot [...]

All of Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, and Anthony Cirelli (more on him later) were out of the lineup for Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Coach Jon Cooper said that all Kucherov and Cirelli will be joining Stamkos on the day-to-day list. Let’s hope this doesn’t last too long because that’s a lot of talent to [...]

We had a busy day for news considering it was a Wednesday. Let’s get to it. First, we got a timeline on Shea Weber’s injury: four to six weeks with an ankle sprain. For fantasy owners, if that timeline holds, he may be back in time for H2H playoffs. I say, “if that timeline holds” [...]

In an extremely frightening event, Jay Bouwmeester collapsed on the St Louis Blues bench during action on Tuesday against the Ducks. Medical personnel was hastily called over and he was stretchered away from the field of play. Obviously, this was a traumatic moment for players on both sides and the decision was made to postpone [...]

Anthony Mantha should be returning Tuesday night for Detroit. That is going to be a big boost to their lineup. This is obviously an offensive boost but we shouldn’t overlook Mantha’s defensive impacts. He’s been the most valuable forward Detroit has, defensively speaking, over the last two seasons. If he doesn’t start with Dylan [...]

*** Update: The Blue Jackets have been hit hard by injuries again (Again? Or still?). Seth Jones has been placed on IR and is out indefinitely with an ankle injury. Cam Atkinson is also said to be out for tonight with an undisclosed injury that doesn't seem to be too serious. Perhaps the latter is [...]
