Their recent surge has been fuelled by more than just Kaprizov's elite scoring touch — though that alone is worth backing. His chemistry with rising star Matt Boldy has been electric. Both are scoring at over a point per game, forming one of the most dangerous one-two punches in the league right now. Add in the rock-solid goaltending tandem of Filip Gustavsson and Jesper Wallstedt, and Minnesota has balance across all three zones.

Pittsburgh has struggled to maintain leads and often relies too heavily on its aging core to generate offense. Their defensive structure also breaks down against faster, more skilled teams — exactly what Toronto brings to the table as the Leafs sit in a tie for ninth in the NHL in goals for.

With momentum on their side, key pieces getting comfortable, and goaltender Joseph Woll looking sharp, the Maple Leafs are the smart play on the moneyline in this spot as they look to improve on their 7-3-0 record over their last 10 against Sid and the boys.
