Busy two days here with my salary projections coming out yesterday, cap league skater rankings this morning, and cap league goalie rankings tomorrow. I’m going to say a quick work on each of those before getting into a few other thoughts. Salary projections: I’ve been working on these for the last five years, and they’re [...]
Typically, I have informally added my salary projections to the end of a Ramblings article, but this time I wanted to put them out as a separate page to keep it a little cleaner. I have been working on contract projections since the fall of 2017, and it has been a big help to my [...]
Next week is going to be busy for me, as I have my usual Ramblings day on the 25th, as well as pushing out the latest updates to the salary cap skater rankings on the 25th for skaters and 26th for goalies. On top of that, with all the season being finalized and having had [...]
We’re well into the first round now, and that means there’s not a lot of fantasy decisions left for the 2021-22 season, while the 2022 offseason hasn’t really begun yet. Things do start to get rolling a little with the draft lottery though, which we saw last night where the Montreal Canadiens landed the first [...]
We have postseason hockey, and oh is it glorious! Goals galore, heavy hits, everything on the line, and a couple of suspension worthy plays mixed in for good measure. What we’re not used to seeing though is all of the penalties called. We’re seeing a big uptick from the number of calls in the regular [...]
As this is my last Ramblings before the end of the regular season, I want to touch a little on championship matches, NHL playoff races, and playoff pools. Best of luck to those of you who still have matches to be decided, and also thank you to all you readers who read, interacted, and bought [...]
Entering last night’s game there were exactly three players on the Red Wings that aren’t listed as cold right now in the FrozenTools system. Those three are Tyler Bertuzzi, Moritz Seider, and Filip Zadina. The first two aren’t surprising, but the fact that Zadina is keeping his head above water while the rest of the [...]
If your league stats run through to the end of the regular season, you may want to check your stats/settings to make sure that you can now include the WPG/SEA game that has been rescheduled from today to May 1st due to inclement weather in WPG. I’m not sure if Yahoo or other platforms will [...]
Ryan Getzlaf is planning to retire at the end of the season. He had an excellent start to the year, propped up by some high percentages, but as the campaign has progressed it does appear that he is nearly running on empty. He had an incredibly impressive career, winning all of the important titles including [...]
The Ottawa Senators honoured Eugene Melnyk prior to last night’s game after Melnyk passed away on Monday. It was a nice tribute to their long-time owner, and his time in Ottawa will certainly never be forgotten. Ian Mendes put a lot of feeling and insight together to look back on Melnyk’s complicated legacy. You can [...]
