The big news from Monday was that Cole Caufield, Montreal's prize prospect, was being sent to the AHL. On the season, he has zero goals on 22 shots, with just one assist in 10 contests. That is poor, to be sure, but let's keep in mind that Hoffman and Perreault are the only Habs players [...]
It is Monday, and Mondays are usually reserved for Dobber. He had some other things to take care of, so he’ll return tomorrow, but you guys are stuck with me for today. We are nearly two weeks into the season and of course, all the samples are still too small for concrete determinations. All the [...]
We’re getting to the point of the season where drops are likely being made in fantasy leagues. I still think it’s too early to make any significant changes outside of both injuries and demotions, but that doesn’t mean other people aren’t doing it. Here are some players I think fantasy owners might be having a [...]
At this point of the fantasy season, there just isn’t a whole lot to talk about. There are a handful of injuries and line changes across the league, but we have lots of columns here at Dobber Hockey that cover those things. We have Ryan Sheppard covering line changes in his ‘Lining Up’ columns and [...]
We are a full week into the NHL season and it is still far, far too early to make any concrete determinations. Outside of injuries or demotions, fantasy rosters shouldn’t have changed too much by this point. That doesn’t mean there aren’t signals we can look for, hoping it could lead to a positive development [...]

Every year, the Dobber team puts together its preseason predictions in a Panel format. We go over, individual trophies, conference champions, the Cup winner, and more. We do this not only to get our thoughts out into the universe one last time before the season starts, but to help the reader. Aggregate opinions are almost [...]
Montreal was in tough to begin the season, knowing they’d be without Shea Weber and Carey Price. News got worse recently as Joel Edmundson revealed an injury and he’ll be out for a few weeks. The news kept rolling on Thursday as there was a surprise announcement from the team and Price that he would [...]
Hockey fans around the world are starting to rejoice at the same time as the countdown to the season winds down. We’re five days from the start of the season, and it sure seems preseason goes faster than we remember? At least it did for me. Anyway, this weekend is a big weekend for fantasy [...]
We have a week left until the season starts, which doesn’t provide a lot of time for people to catch up on training camp news. I get that even in the best of times, finding some minutes to research fantasy hockey can be tough for people with families, a job (or multiple), and other responsibilities. [...]
