Campkin gives you his "All-Geek" team - this year's top fantasy performers

With the season concluding later this evening, I have to say that it has been a lot of fun to have the opportunity to do some writing for Fantasy Hockey Geek and the Dobber Sports Network. Hopefully everybody has enjoyed the articles and used any insight I may have brought to help secure you a victory in your league. Now that the most leagues are pretty much done I want to take the opportunity to look back at some of the players I profiled and present my 2013 All-Geek Team.

Campkin explains why Ovie is once again King of the hill in fantasy circles.

It’s official folks, the Great 8 is back and dominating the NHL and fantasy leagues alike. As we near the end to this shortened season, a question I am commonly asked is “who has been this season’s fantasy MVP?” The answer to that question is today’s Geek of the Week: Alex Ovechkin.

Campkin looks at a guy flying under the radar in Washington...former Blackhawk Troy Brouwer

As the season nears an end, we are all either making a push towards a championship or thinking about next season. Today I am going to take an in-depth look at a guy who is not only a great option to help you with your 2013 push, but also a player who you should be bumping up your draft boards next September: Troy Brouwer.

Campkin takes an in-depth look at Derek Stepan... and why he's kicking ass

At the beginning of this shortened season, I wrote a piece on Mike Ribeiro and outlined how he was a guy that I targeted in my keeper league because my team (The Campkin Cartel) needed a center and was short on assists, powerplay points and hits. Needless to say Ribeiro has been a homerun for my team, but there is actually another center who I drafted early that is doing even more for the Cartel, so I decided to make him the latest Geek of the Week: Derek Stepan.

When Iginla owners rolled out of bed on Thursday, they no doubt felt like a kid on Christmas morning. What better place for Iginla to be moved than Pittsburgh? Obviously this move is going to improve Iginla’s value on your fantasy hockey team, but to what degree? Today I am going to look inside the numbers to figure out how big of an effect this trade has on our latest Geek of the Week: Jarome Iginla.

An indepth look at Pittsburgh forward Chris Kunitz's fantastic season

It’s always nice when one of your preseason dark horse picks breaks through with an elite season to propel your team to the top while making you look like smart along the way. Today I am going to take a look back at one guy who did just that for me and is currently lighting the league on fire: Chris Kunitz.

An in-depth look at Marek Zidlicky of the New Jersey Devils

If you had the opportunity to pick up Dan Boyle in your fantasy hockey league for next to nothing, I know that all of you would jump at the opportunity. What if I told you that there is another player who currently has equal-to or better-than output in all of the most commonly measured categories and that the player was only 52% owned?  That player is Marek Zidlicky.

Terry Campkin goes beyond the surface with Alex Semin in Carolina this season.

Earlier this year, I wrote a piece which identified some buy-low and sell high candidates. Today, I am going to take a deeper look at one of the players profiled: Alexander Semin.

At the time the article was published, Semin’s average draft position was 140. I asserted that Semin could easily provide top 50 value in the coming season and had the upside to even surpass that. Let’s run the same league through Fantasy Hockey Geek using 2013 stats and take a look at how he is doing so far:
