Now that we are a couple of weeks into the season and we have some massive sample sizes to work with (notice the tongue firmly planted in cheek here), I want to turn our attention to players who have been seeing a change in deployment that could impact their fantasy value going forward. This week [...]
The Immediate Fix (Grab this guy and use him for the next several days)Andrew Mangiapane, LW, Calgary Flames (Available in 28% of ESPN leagues, 23% Fantrax, 54% Yahoo ) – The Flames have been off to a great start this season with a 4-1-1 record and have looked great on their most recent east coast [...]
After meeting with Gary Bettman earlier in the day, Joel Quenneville has resigned as head coach of the Florida Panthers. Andrew Brunette will take over as the interim head coach. With news surfacing about Quenneville’s inaction to Kyle Beach’s report of sexual assault during the 2010 playoffs when both were in the Blackhawks organization, as [...]
Like a volcano erupting the fantasy landscape for defencemen dramatically altered in a matter of three months. This offseason was met with collective sighs, ooh’s and ah’s as defenceman after defenceman signed for higher than expected values. Also, we cover some big shooters and peripheral getters, and [...]
This week we are going to focus on an unsustainable stat line that goes hand in hand with production. The one metric I will be focusing on is points per 60 minutes (pts/60). I’m not saying that other metrics like 5 on 5 shooting percentage, PDO, IPP and CF% aren’t important, but I find that [...]
