The highly-anticipated Midseason Fantasy Hockey Guide was released on Friday (January 14). You can buy it here and download it right away. And I actually put in a small update Sunday: https://twitter.com/DobberHockey/status/1485418766351675394 * So how do we value Mike Matheson? This is a defenseman who has very good (and now underrated) offensive skills, but is [...]

Not one, not two, but three Sabres scored a pair of goals against the Flyers in Saturday’s early game. That’s how bad it is for the Flyers, who have now lost 11 consecutive games. Can they fire another head coach this season? Will UFA-to-be Claude Giroux be traded at the deadline? Lots of questions in [...]

Ramblings: Crosby, Husso, February Schedule, Droppable Goalies (Jan 22)

Sidney Crosby isn’t quite the goal scorer that he used to be. However, he managed to complete the 12th hat trick of his career while adding an assist on Friday. Crosby has power-play goals in back-to-back games, goals in three consecutive games and points in four consecutive games. He’s also taken 18 shots over his [...]

Ramblings: Oilers and Flyers Lose Again, Quinn, Meier, Francouz (Jan 21)

The Edmonton/Florida game seemed like one that you would bet the over on. At least one team filled their end of the bargain. The Panthers feasted on a vulnerable Oilers team to the tune of 6-0, with Sergei Bobrovsky earning a 40-save shutout. Given that shot total, the score probably could have looked a little [...]

The NHL released a revised schedule on Wednesday, updating all 32 teams’ future, given all the postponements in the past. Some teams were more influenced than others but every team has some significant schedule movement to discuss. There will be a lot more on this in the near-future here at Dobber. Our ‘Looking Ahead’ column, [...]

Ramblings: Meier Tops Hertl’s Four-Goal Mark; Bennett and Kucherov; Parayko Returns – January 18

By Michael Clifford|2022-01-17T21:08:25-05:00January 18th, 2022|Hockey Rambling|

While going through some data since the calendar turned to 2022, I noticed that Sam Bennett’s ice time has been on a slide. He has 15:12 per game over his last four games, but it would be hard to blame someone for missing that, buried underneath his six goals and eight points in those four [...]
