Happy New Year! Here’s hoping 2022 ended on a high note for you and that 2023 is fruitful in both your fantasy life and your real life. And thank you for supporting Dobber Hockey with your fantasy hockey fix. Look for our Midseason Guide to be available in two weeks, which I am personally playing [...]
Welcome back to The Journey, where we track the development of prospects as they excel in junior, make the NHL, and push towards stardom. As we say goodbye to 2022, I thought I would put on my rose-coloured glasses and try to imagine what might be in store for the development of each team’s prospects [...]
The calendar turns over to 2023 tonight, and with it a new focus on those “bubbly” teams - who makes the top eight will be discussed and dissected for another 3 ½ months. Last night, the Nashville Predators played a “Hey, Remember Us?” game, but beating the Ducks isn’t going to get them anywhere. See [...]
We have reached the final slate of the year 2022 and what a better way to keep yourself awake for the ball drop than by sweating an Edmonton-Winnipeg game as the clock approaches midnight! Likely thanks to the schedule makers trying to avoid New Year’s Eve festivities, many of the games for this Saturday have [...]
Kris Letang was out of the lineup on Friday with a lower-body injury, which resulted in Ty Smith making his Penguins debut against the team that drafted him. Smith was immediately thrown onto the first-unit power play, which has been an ideal place to find scoring riches during the Sidney Crosby/Evgeni Malkin era. Surprisingly, Smith [...]
Welcome back everyone! I hope that everyone out there had a happy and safe holiday, but now it’s time to focus back in on fantasy hockey and DFS. I mean, it’s either that or check all the emails you’ve missed while you have been out of office? The answer here to me is obvious, let’s [...]
Alexis Lafreniere was made a healthy scratch on Thursday with Sammy Blais re-entering the Rangers lineup for a more physical presence. Lafreniere hasn’t been terrible this season, but a 39-point pace is only a modest improvement from last season. Lafreniere has been held without a goal in his last eight games, but his shooting percentage [...]
With the new year upon us, I opted to take this time to write about some of the players that signed with new teams during the 2022 offseason and see how they’re doing on their new contracts alongside new faces – as well as the big names that got traded during the summer. The players [...]
First, to continue my series of “What’s Wrong With…,” today’s focus is on the Florida Panthers. Last year’s Presidents’ Trophy winners are struggling to even stay relevant at this point, currently nine points out of a playoff spot and 12th in the Eastern Conference - as Matthew Tkachuk aptly put it, “the playoffs start now.” [...]
Perhaps the most important part of the Philadelphia season to date has been the excellent play of Carter Hart. After a couple down seasons, he looked to be regaining the form he showed in his first couple of years in the league. Then we got this news: https://twitter.com/ReinerOlivia/status/1608125842030313473 Coach John Tortorella would go on to [...]
