Welcome back to The Journey, where we follow hockey prospects and their paths to the NHL, providing fantasy predictions and analysis along the way. The preseason is an excellent time to sell high on prospects who are seeing preferential deployment in the early going. While the odds are that that deployment won’t last, poolies are [...]

According to Sam Carchidi of PHI Hockey Now, Carter Hart says he’ll be ready for the Flyers’ opening-night game on October 13. Hart has been taking shots at practice, but he has still not been cleared for contact drills. Hart’s injury has not been stated, although it’s worth mentioning that he was shut down with [...]
Given that we are in the midst of draft season, we are going to turn our attention to some more specific draft data and subject you all to a bit of my own drafting philosophy. The focus for this week will be those end of draft swings - but more on that in a minute. [...]
Rasmus Sandin and the Leafs have finally agreed on a contract, a two-year deal with a $1.4 million cap hit. Injuries on defense may have expedited the signing (more on that in a bit). In the end, Sandin has signed a contract with the same cap hit and term as fellow young d-man Timothy Liljegren. [...]

My last few Ramblings have discussed projections I’ve made for the 2022-23 fantasy hockey season and we’re continuing that trend today. On Tuesday, we went over some players that I wrote of often throughout the summer and how they fared in my projections. Today will be more of the same but we’re going to focus [...]

If you’re reading this then odds are that you’re in at least one fantasy hockey league, and you’re now really ramping up for the NHL season. What that means differs from person to person. Maybe it means you’re re-ranking your top-500 draft options for the 4,762nd time, or maybe it means you’re printing off last [...]
This week, Grant Campbell and I organized the league’s forwards into tiers based on projected fantasy value this season. Grant covers the Western Conference here at DobberHockey, and you can check out his forward tiers in the West over here. Below, you’ll find my tiered ranking of forwards in the East. There’s some subjectivity baked [...]
