This is just my second column, and the amount of preparation was at least tripled. I’ll try to keep the basic outline each week - a team to stack, an individual skater, a goalie, then a bargain or two. For those in their league finals (I squeaked through one on a tiebreaker), best wishes! Dobber’s [...]
Welcome back to Lining Up. With a little skill and luck hopefully you have either wrapped up your championship or are set to battle it out over the final stretch. For those participating in Yahoo leagues, this final week will cover nearly two calendar weeks from today until the last day of the season on [...]
Here are the top prospect goalies to own in your dynasty leagues - spring edition! ** Coming Soon! Pre-order Dobber's 16th annual Interactive Playoff Draft List here! ** As always, players rated between +/-5.0 rating points of each other should be considered equal value and you will need to determine whether you value lower upside [...]
We’ve nearly reached the end of both the fantasy and regular seasons. Most teams have somewhere around 5-7 games left, the East is completely wrapped, and at least half the West (if not more, depending on how we view Edmonton’s lead) is wrapped up as well. For anyone that is still in need of some [...]
I’m going to look at some players in the West that have seen elevated roles in recent weeks or have been added to the lineups and been allowed to shine with less than eight games to play in the regular season. One thing to keep in mind during your fantasy draft and then throughout the season is that you always want to target players who are getting plenty of power-play time. After all, most leagues count power-play points as a category, but even in points-only pools, many players can get a boost by playing top minutes [...]
If you’re fortunate enough to still be alive in your fantasy hockey playoffs, make sure to do a thorough check of your waiver wire. Desperate GMs could have offloaded players that wouldn’t normally get dropped and those teams still playing can take advantage. One such name to look out for is Evgeni Malkin who is [...]
Every Sunday, we share 21 Fantasy Rambles from our writers at DobberHockey. These thoughts are curated from the past week's ‘Daily Ramblings’. Writers/Editors: Ian Gooding, Michael Clifford, Alexander MacLean, and Dobber ___ 1. Do yourself a favour next year and don't draft goalies early. We went into the season with the undeniable top-four of Andrei [...]
Well, it’s been a long winding road this fantasy season, but we are on the final week, kind of. The final “week” of competition will be held from April 18 to May 1 to make for one last marathon period you need to navigate before things are officially finished. There are definitely some teams that [...]
Fantasy playoffs are top of mind for many of you reading this, with normally routine roster decisions becoming more magnified. I’ve seen a higher-than-normal number of start/sit questions on Twitter this weekend, many of which were very challenging! Complicated questions often don’t have easy solutions, so I’ll try to share some factors that I normally [...]
