*Note: Stats courtesy of Frozen Tools (of course!) One of the most exciting award races in hockey is that of the Calder Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL’s rookie of the year. Furthermore, the 2027 rookie class is a loaded one. First-year players can often end up falling into the later rounds of drafts or [...]
The offseason is all about opportunity, but every trade and free-agent signing also creates a few fantasy losers. While some players on this list have seen their fantasy value take another hit after already dealing with declining roles, others are younger players whose path to fantasy relevance became more difficult because of new additions around [...]
Every Sunday, we share 21 Fantasy Rambles from our writers at DobberHockey. These thoughts are curated from the past week's ‘Daily Ramblings’. Writers/Editors: Ian Gooding, Michael Clifford, Alexander MacLean, Puneet Sharma, and Dobber ___ 1. It feels like we have hit a dead spot in the summer, where all the insiders and hockey accounts have [...]
Connor Bedard has his extension. The day after Bedard’s 21st birthday, the Blackhawks have rewarded their franchise player with a five-year extension with a $15 million cap hit. The recent Leo Carlsson offer sheet ($18 million per season) only increased the price for Bedard, but the Blackhawks should have no issues paying this to retain [...]
Every draft season, fantasy managers obsess over offensive upside. We debate who will score 80 points, who will quarterback a power play, and who has the highest ceiling. Two forwards finish a season with the same point total, the same shot volume, the same power-play time. One plays on a team that wins 60% of its games; the other plays on a team that was selling by American Thanksgiving. In most fantasy formats those are not the same player — and the entire [...]
Last week we did a quick survey around the league to take stock of the impacts of all of the player movement we have seen this summer. We focused on players who potentially saw their fortunes dip. This week we are taking a look at players who hopefully saw theirs increase. The research for this [...]
The Philadelphia Flyers announced an extension for forward Trevor Zegras, signing him for four years at $9.125-million per season, a substantial raise on the $5.75-million AAV deal he just completed. Even with the rising cap, he goes from a 6% cap hit to an 8.8% cap hit, being paid as a top-50 player. For fantasy [...]

Note that I haven’t gotten to a specific signing yet rest assured, we’re going to be covering as many of them as we can [...]
