The last of the playoff series start tonight as Montreal heads to Toronto for the first game of their seven-game series. It has been decades since the two faced off in postseason competition and fans are excited. This should be fun to watch, even if Toronto is heavily-favoured. I just can’t believe Cole Caufield is [...]

I have to hand it to the NHL for their arrangement of timeslots. They have finally figured out that they need to space out start times and not put all four games of the day into the usual 7pm EST slot. * The goalie timeshares are spilling over into the playoffs, and it may have [...]

Kevin Hayes will be having core surgery. At present time, he doesn’t appear likely to miss training camp, which is obviously very good news for the Flyers. He is a key piece of this team with him and Couturier being a 1-2 punch down the middle. Anyway: https://twitter.com/BroadStBull/status/1394329729390555137 As we have seen from players in [...]

For the 14th time in 15 years (damn lockout), I am offering a playoff draft list for your playoff pools. This will be available for download Monday (so it may be available as you read this. It is an interactive list – you select your teams that go deep, run the rankings on the spreadsheet, [...]

The Stanley Cup Playoffs kicked off on Saturday with Game 1 of the East Division series between the Bruins and Capitals. It ended with Nic Dowd tipping a T.J. Oshie shot in overtime to give the Capitals a 3-2 win and a 1-0 series lead. https://twitter.com/NHL/status/1393755998666493953 Those who participated in the Bucci Overtime Challenge on [...]

The Leafs and Jets finished off their regular seasons on Friday, with the Jets coming out on top 4-2. Kyle Connor led the Jets offensively, scoring twice. Connor now has goals in three consecutive games, with four goals, six points, and 11 shots over that span. He’s found his form just in time for the [...]

The NHL released the full playoff schedule, though some times need to be filled in. Many of the American series are starting this weekend but Canada won’t start until next week, as will Carolina and St. Louis. The full schedule can be viewed here. It will be interesting to see how they navigate the start [...]

Henrik Borgström signed a two-year extension with the Chicago Blackhawks, carrying a cap hit of $1M per season. He was traded to the Blackhawks as part of the Brett Connolly cap dump from the Panthers, as it was clear the team was ready to move on from The Borg. Where his future goes, who knows. [...]

Heads up for those of you with fantasy leagues still going, today’s game between the Canucks and the Jets starts at 5pm EST. Wouldn’t want to miss one of the last chances you have to set your lineups for the season. * Along the same lines, the league is bumping up the start times for [...]

It was locker cleaning day in Buffalo, and whew baby, a lot of tough quotes from some of the Sabres vets. It was a tough year from all the losses to COVID to losing Eichel to trading Hall, so it’s little wonder we got some great quotes at locker cleanout. First, from Sam Reinhart, who [...]
