It’s officially the week for our release of the 2020 Dobber Hockey Prospects Guide! Circumstances had forced Dobber to move back the release date a little bit but the extra couple weeks’ wait is more than worth it. Be sure to head to the Dobber Shop and pre-order your copy so that you’re all set [...]
In a normal year, the Dobber Prospects Report would already be released, as it’s typically set for distribution every June 1st, allowing fantasy freaks to read up on the prospects they need to know for their dynasty drafts in the summer or fall. It provides the opportunity to do a bit of homework when there’s [...]
Sunday night I was able to hop on the Steve Laidlaw Podcast with, you guessed it, Steve Laidlaw. More recent readers may not remember him, but he was an associate editor here at Dobber for many years, and with the recent, let’s say, downtime we’ve been experiencing, he started his own podcast. We talked about [...]
Gary Bettman had a virtual press conference on Tuesday to announce parts of the NHL’s Return to Play plan. Readers can head to NHL.com to read up on the playoff format, the draft lottery, and a few other details about the RTP. Anyone who has read my Ramblings knows where I stand on this. I [...]

We saw the 24-team format (in some manner) get approved last week while the actual protocols for returning to practice are starting to leak out. Readers can just flip through this tweet thread from Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston for more details. Limited contact, a [...]
We hope everyone is enjoying the new site. Most of it will be familiar as the general layout was released a few months ago, but now we have new tools and features to help fantasy hockey owners on every decision they need to make. Please take the time to look around the site and familiarize [...]
The new Dobber Hockey has launched! Our development team has been working at this for months and the day finally came yesterday as we were able to launch in full. We had a re-design months ago, but now this battle station is fully operation. Again, kudos to our dev team as they’re the ones that [...]
We’re all greedy fantasy owners. We all want the players on our fantasy rosters to be the ones that get increased ice time, increased power-play exposure, overtime opportunities, and so on. And when they don’t, we often try to justify to ourselves why it might happen in the future. I’m a fan of the Star [...]
The world continues to turn even as we continue to effectively sit in one spot. There are talks about proposals from both the league and the players but we haven’t seen anything formal yet, and everything until then is just speculation. Speaking of speculation, I feel like doing some “what ifs” from the past however [...]
Last week, I wrote a Ramblings dedicated to guys that are currently active whom we might see in the Hall of Fame someday. They were guys that were not among the mortal locks to get there currently – guys like Crosby, Ovechkin, Karlsson, and the like. I also wanted to avoid the younger guys who’ll [...]
